Smealls Do Maui 2015 - Day 4 - The Transition

There is no better word for day 4 than "transition." When we woke up this morning we were thrilled to see no rain! The skies were still very overcast, but the forecast was showing this was the last day of clouds. YAY!

We started the morning with a walk/jog at the Wailea boardwalk. I could spend hours at the boardwalk just taking in all the beautiful hotels and views. It was really busy at the boardwalk, you could tell everyone must have been cooped up the day before like we were. It was really muggy out, but felt so good! The skies were a very cool gray color and made for some awesome pics.

After our time at the boardwalk, we stopped at the park! This has become a daily stop for us and Natalie loves it. She played around on the toys for a while and then we walked up to look at the water and see if we could spot any whales.

We headed home for lunch and nap. During nap, Joe and I both took walks. I took a long walk down our beach. It is so quiet and enjoyable.

After nap, we went and made a stop at Costco, and then headed to check out Paia. We have heard that Paia can get some pretty big waves so we thought we'd see if we could find any. We went to the popular surfing beach, Hookipa. There were a lot of surfers there, but not very big waves. It was REALLY windy so we didn't stay long. We headed back in to the small town and had dinner at the Paia Fish Market. Joe and I had Mahi-Mahi fish and chips and Natty had a cheeseburger. Haha!

After dinner we went in a few local shops. We found out that Friday was supposed to be the big wave day! Bummer, we were a day early! Oh well...we still had a fun excursion.

Here's a few pics from the day...Enjoy!
