When the sun shines...good things happen!

WOW! We have had some awesome weather the past few days! Joe and I both worked on Saturday so we were sure to take advantage of the sun on Sunday...and good things happened. We stopped at Home Depot for some plants and other "home improvement" items, and got to work. Everything is better when it's sunny...even yard work! After our projects were complete, we finished our evening with a beautiful walk at Chambers Bay! There were so many people out...it was fun to see all the kids playing at the park, the people jogging and walking, the picnics, kite flying and so much more! Here's some pictures of our work. Enjoy!

Our new plants..3 azaleas and 1 hydrangea!
 Love my little sign!
Sprucing up the front porch with some new plants and the two colorful pots!
My existing tulips...They looked so happy!
This is the project we are most proud of! It was only 20 bucks!!! It is the new spot for the BBQ.
The BBQ on it's new pad! Our patio feels so much larger!
Joe working on the grass...he killed the moss and planted new seed and even fertilized too!
Love me some sun!!

We had such a great day!! And today, when we got off work, we were able to go to TLTC and play some outdoor tennis! What a great afternoon!

Me and My Girl!

 My Little Cuddle Bug!
 Look at this sweet face!
Beautiful Kitty!

More and more, Lucy is becoming an increasingly sociable and loving cat! She seems to have more of the stereotypical "cat" personality. I'd like to think it's because she is just growing up and maturing, but I actually think it's because we've been gone so much and she is sucking up so we don't leave anymore!! Hah!

Despite her quirkyness, she's still my little girl and she's so much fun to have around. I love days off (and so does she!) because we get our special bonding time! I try explaining to Joe, that she really IS loveable, but he never really "sees" it. I guess it's her and my little secret. I thought these pics were fun and wanted to share!! The first one, Joe actually took, so he did get to witness her being sweet!

She's a fun little companion!

The "Continued" You've All Been Waiting For

Okay, so I hope the anticipation is killing you now and you are so excited to see this blog! Hah! Probably not, but I'll pretend anyway. So here goes...

After two nights in Vegas, we headed over to see Melinda. I always love going to see Melinda because she is the most excited person ever...I love seeing her drive up to the arrivals with a huge smile on her face and jumping out of the car to give big hugs! She's wonderful!

Our first night was spent having a nice meal prepared by Melinda, visiting with her roommate and some friends, and just catching up and enjoying each others company. We never run out of things to talk about!!

The next morning we headed off to Disneyland. You think kids get excited for Disneyland, well you should have seen us!!! We grabbed our Starbucks and breakfast and were on the road! We spent ALL day crusin' the parks (Disneyland and California Adventure), ridin' the rides, and having a blast!! The weather was so nice (85 degrees) and we all got some sun! Here's some pics from Disneyland...

What a wonderful day!!!

The next morning we slept in! We had such a long day in Disneyland, we needed the rest! We got up and went to Mo's for breakfast and then headed to the beach! It was a nice relaxing time. After the beach, we headed back to Melinda's house and then went to the store to get stuff for a BBQ. Melinda, Joe and I had quite the feast!! Chicken, salad, bread, dessert...it was all so good!!! There's really only one picture that describes this day...Mom, don't get mad...
This is what happens when you have had no sun for several months...and then you are laying on the beach with a heavy breeze and you don't feel like you are getting any sun, so you keep laying...then you get home and realize you soaked up a lot more rays then you thought...ouch! Haha! Live and learn, right?!?!

Well, I thought I would finish this blog, but I think I'm going to leave you in suspense one more time!!! We have so many pictures from this trip that it takes a long time to do one blog. So...to be continued for the last two days of our trip. Stay tuned!!

Fun Photos - Week in Review!

This week has been a bit of a doozy and I still owe my "blog followers" the to be continued post from our trip! Well, you aren't going to get that post today, but here's a few pics from the last week that hopefully you will enjoy.

First off, last Friday we traded in our Mitsubishi Outlander for a Mazda3. While this was a SUPER emotional process for me, now that the car is "out of sight, out of mind" I am recovering quite well and enjoying the much smaller car payment AND cheaper gas! Looks like this new car is going to get us over 30 miles per gallon. YAY! (And I do love that it's black...that was one thing I loved about the Mit.)

 Bye Bye Mit!
Hello, Mazda3

Secondly, on Sunday, I had my very first tennis match and I WON!! But let me tell you, OUCH! I am still feeling my sore buns, thighs, and knees today, and it's been 5 days! Haha! Even though I am in good shape due to all my running, it is nothing like the side to side movements of tennis...and boy do I feel it! It also didn't help that I was sick, so my body was already feeling pooey! The set scores were 6-4 and 7-5. The match took over two hours, with 75% of the games doing to deuce 2! It took forever...but I got the "W" so I'm thrilled. (We all know I hate to lose!)

Here I am before my match!

Thirdly, yesterday I got to meet Kate's new addition! What a cutie!! We had such a fun afternoon playing with this little one! Doesn't take long for pups to get worn out. I think we are all in LOVE with this precious little one and can't wait to see her grow.

 How cute is this face?!?!?
All tuckered out!

And lastly, here's a cute pic of my little cuddle bug Lucy! She gets jealous if I leave her out.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! And Happy Easter!
